Biography

Dr. David A. Palmore was born on June 7th in Syracuse, New York as the 3rd of 5 children to Kentucky-born Missionary Academics, James and Miriam.

At the tender age of 6 months, his family relocated to Dumaguete City in the Visayan Islands of The Philippines to help continue establishing the very first American college in all of Asia: Silliman University.

Today, Silliman is an expansive and highly renowned private research and educational institution with a dedicated Palmore Circle at the Medical Center, honoring the legacy of his beloved parents for the lifelong years they contributed to its history and development.

He grew up around the then-smaller growing campus on this remote tropical island amongst locals and a few fellow Americans, until boarding at the prestigious Brent School in Baguio on the Luzon mainland. He went to Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in Michigan for his Senior Year.

Upon graduating, he went to University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, majoring in Anthropology (B.A.), with Minors in Sociology and Psychology. He completed his pre-medical prerequisites at Silliman University.

Dr. Palmore was accepted to Medical School in Quezon City at University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center College of Medicine (UERMMC), receiving his Medical Degree (M.D.) at the top of his class as valedictorian.

He then moved back to The United States for his residency training in Michigan to North Carolina, before finally settling in the growing agricultural city of Fresno, California around the late 1980's.

Since then, he has been in private practice and became affiliated with the top hospitals and health networks of the Central Valley, receiving many distinctions along the way.

Outside of tending to his patients, he has a passion to maintain his athleticism, especially while practicing table tennis daily to prepare for tournaments across the nation. He also enjoys watching good movies/shows, reading books, riding bikes, studying new interests in arts, playing classical piano or guitar, and continues traveling all around the world.

As a proud father who raised 3 successful daughters and son, he naturally turned into a doting beloved grandfather to 3 beautiful little girls.

For over 20 years, he has been in love and married to his wife/best friend/partner, Karina, who is an accomplished businesswoman in her own right, administrator at our organization, as well as local social activist originally from Cusco, Peru. They are often seen working together at the office, before going home to walk their 12 year old dog, Coconel (CeeCee, their Cairn Terrier, passed peacefully at age 15 around family.)

In addition to English, Dr. Palmore can read, write and speak 3 other languages proficiently: Spanish, Tagalog and his native, Cebuano.
